Dr. Corey Smith Makes Donation to Enhance Labor and Delivery Care at NARMC

HARRISON, AR – The North Arkansas Medical Foundation is pleased to announce a generous donation from Dr. Corey Smith and his wife, Sarah Smith. Dr. Smith is an OB/GYN at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center’s Family Medicine Clinic. The contribution of more than $8,500 has funded the purchase of a new wireless fetal monitoring system for labor and delivery services at the hospital, which will advance maternal care and improve the birthing experience for mothers throughout North Central Arkansas.

The new wireless fetal monitor represents the next generation of maternal and fetal monitoring technology. This beltless and non-invasive system measures fetal heart rate, maternal heart rate, and uterine activity beginning as early as 34 weeks gestation. This advanced technology enables expectant mothers to move and rest freely during labor, supporting both comfort and the health of the mother simultaneously.

“Women value the ability to move during labor, and caregivers need monitoring solutions that drive the best possible outcomes,” said Dr. Smith. “As an OB/GYN, I'm motivated by the opportunity to provide compassionate care, supporting women through significant moments in their health and well-being.”

By enhancing mobility and flexibility, this advanced monitoring system will empower mothers to remain active participants in their birthing journey, helping reduce stress, promote labor progression, and provide a more positive overall experience. The addition of this equipment reinforces NARMC’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative, patient-centered maternal care close to home.

“Dr. Smith’s generous gift exemplifies the dedication of our medical staff to improving the lives of our patients,” said Sammie Cribbs Roberson, President and CEO of NARMC. “This technology will help ensure that mothers at NARMC receive the safest, most comfortable, and most advanced care possible throughout their delivery experience.”

Dr. Smith specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pelvic health. His practice focuses on empowering women’s health and wellness by combining clinical excellence with compassionate, community-centered values.

NARMC serves a five-county region across Boone, Newton, Searcy, Marion, and Carroll counties, providing comprehensive healthcare to a largely rural population. As one of only 31 hospitals in Arkansas still delivering babies and a designated Baby-Friendly Hospital, NARMC remains a cornerstone of maternal and family health for residents in the region.

“We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Smith for his leadership and generosity,” said Dan Dillard, Donor Relations and Grants Coordinator for NARMC. “His contribution directly strengthens our ability to provide advanced, personalized care for moms and babies in our community.”

The North Arkansas Medical Foundation supports NARMC by raising funds to advance technology, improve facilities, and expand patient services.
