They also build on the hospital’s recent designation as an Arkansas Stroke Ready Hospital, as well as multiple recognitions from the Arkansas Department of Health and the UAMS Institute for Digital Health & Innovation Stroke Program. Together, these honors reflect the consistency, depth, and reliability of NARMC’s approach to stroke and cardiac care.

Teamwork in Action

These repeated honors highlight the ongoing dedication of NARMC’s teams across the system. Success in stroke and cardiac care depends on coordination at every step, beginning with EMS in the field and extending through the emergency department. Laboratory and Radiology, particularly CT imaging, are essential in meeting the strict time targets for stroke care, providing the critical information physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers need to make rapid treatment decisions.

Beyond the initial response, rehabilitation specialists, pharmacists, radiology technologists, and support staff help ensure patients continue to receive the right care when they experience a medical emergency. This collaboration across service lines allows NARMC to consistently meet national benchmarks and deliver the speed and accuracy that save lives and improve long-term outcomes.

A Continuing Commitment to Rural Arkansas

As a rural hospital, NARMC’s repeated recognition in both stroke and coronary artery disease (STEMI) care demonstrates its ability to provide the same level of excellence patients expect at larger urban facilities. By using advanced emergency protocols, real-time telehealth neurology consultations, and streamlined transfer processes when higher-level intervention is needed, NARMC ensures patients across north Arkansas continue to receive lifesaving care close to home.

Ongoing Commitment to Quality Care

Arkansas continues to rank among the states with the highest rates of stroke and heart disease, making rapid diagnosis and treatment critical. This new round of awards reflects not only NARMC’s ability to meet strict national standards, but also its ongoing progress and consistency in raising the bar for rural healthcare. From EMS response to CT scans, lab work, emergency treatment, and rehabilitation, NARMC’s teams are building on past successes and strengthening a system of care designed to give patients the best possible outcomes.
