NARMC Welcomes Medical Oncologist and Hematologist Dr. Mickey Xun

Harrison, AR-September 2026 - North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) is pleased to welcome Dr. Mickey Xun to the medical staff at the Claude Parrish Cancer Center, where she provides hematology and medical oncology care for patients throughout North Central Arkansas.

Dr. Xun brings decades of experience in cancer care, hematology and research to NARMC. Her experience includes targeted therapy, immunotherapy and biomarker-specific treatments, as well as extensive work in hematology and oncology research. She believes advances in cancer medicine continue to create opportunities to make treatment increasingly specific to each patient and their disease. She provides care for patients with a wide range of cancers and blood disorders, with an approach centered on understanding each patient as an individual and developing a treatment plan based on their diagnosis, needs and circumstances.

“Cancer affects the whole family, so treatment is tailored to the family as well as the patient,” Dr. Xun said.

Dr. Xun earned her medical degree from Hunan Medical University and a Master of Science in Immunology from Beijing Medical College. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kentucky and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. Her career has included faculty service with the University of Kentucky and VA Medical Centers and more than 15 years practicing hematology and medical oncology in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Dr. Xun was drawn to the area by the people she encountered while visiting here and the welcoming atmosphere she found in the community. She brings a personal connection to her work, emphasizing open communication and helping patients and families feel comfortable asking questions and understanding their care.

In her short time here, Dr. Xun has already made a meaningful impact at the Claude Parrish Cancer Center, bringing her experience and deep commitment to both the patients she cares for and the future of cancer care at NARMC.

“I am very excited to have Dr. Xun at our cancer center,” said Jon Burnside, Director-RTI. “Her extensive experience, expertise, and exceptional skill set will be a tremendous asset to our team and, most importantly, to the patients we serve. I know that everyone from the staff to the patients and their families will be happy as we partner with Dr. Xun.”
