Harrison, Ark. (September 8, 2024) – North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) is proud to announce the addition of Corey Smith, MD, MPH, to their medical team. Dr. Smith is a highly experienced OB/GYN specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pelvic health. With a comprehensive approach to women’s health, Dr. Smith brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the community.
Dr. Smith holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from St. George’s University School of Medicine, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Smith’s medical career was enriched by an extensive residency at Drexel University/Hahnemann Hospital in Obstetrics and Gynecology, equipping him with a broad skill set in women’s health. Dr. Smith was among the first U.S. residents to participate in training programs, in collaboration with ACOG, in Uganda and Zambia, where he played a role in teaching Essential Training in Operative Obstetrics in rural areas. His work focused on improving access to life-saving emergency cesarean sections and enhancing the management of postpartum hemorrhages, significantly impacting maternal healthcare in these regions.
Originally from McComb, Mississippi, Dr. Smith integrates his community-centered values with an evidence-based medical approach, providing a holistic and advanced treatment paradigm for his many patients. Dr. Smith currently practices at Ozark Pelvic Health in Mountain Home, AR, and looks forward to providing women’s healthcare services in Harrison Arkansas as well.
Dr. Smith is married to Sarah Smith, APRN, and in his free time he enjoys spending time with family and just about anything that involves water or the outdoors, including scuba diving, fishing, and camping.
