The North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) Auxiliary recently purchased sanitation stations to be strategically placed at NARMC. The stations are currently located at the seven entrances of the hospital and feature three compartments for various sanitizers for guests to use when entering the health system.
The Auxiliary also purchased three additional stations to be used at the NARMC Medical Plaza once it is open.
“According to the CDC, 80% of communicable diseases are transferred by touch,” Infection Control Nurse, Melinda Hall said. “If we practice thorough hand hygiene, we can help prevent the transmission of diseases.”
So far, year to date, the NARMC Auxiliary has donated 28,996 hours of time to the health system. The Auxiliary thrift store and gift shop are both fundraising efforts that benefit NARMC. Funds raised through those efforts are used to purchase needed equipment such as the sanitation stations.
“We are so grateful for the NARMC Auxiliary,” President and CEO Vince Leist said. “When they see a need, they do whatever they can to find a solution. The sanitation stations are a creative way to combat the transmission of diseases in a hospital setting.”
