The Board of Directors of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) convened their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 27, where they received several staff updates.
NARMC President/CEO, Sammie Cribbs, invited Donna Boehm, the Director of Nursing, to share an exciting accolade the hospital recently received. Boehm announced, "NARMC has been honored with the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline STEMI Referring Center Silver Plus Award." She explained that the award was based on the hospital's participation in the "Get with the Guidelines" program and its fulfillment of the required criteria for Mission: Lifeline recognition, as evidenced by the data submitted throughout the 2022 calendar year.
The Mission: Lifeline Referring Center Award recognizes hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to providing patients with the latest research-based care for STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction), in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association.
Boehm stated, "We received the Silver level recognition, which indicates that we consistently administer clot-busting medication within 30 minutes of arrival, provide blood pressure medication at discharge, and maintain door-in to door-out time within 30 minutes. In addition, we earned the 'Plus' designation for our door-in to door-out time. We are incredibly proud of this achievement."
Cribbs commended the excellent care being provided by the hospital in the community, expressing gratitude to Donna Boehm for sharing the information. Cribbs then announced, "The validation results for the fourth quarter of 2022 have been received. This is part of a program with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid that assesses certain diagnoses and associated quality metrics to evaluate the performance of care provided. We are thrilled to report 100% compliance on this validation report."
Cribbs took a moment to acknowledge several staff members who had recently received community recognition.
She said, "Dr. Brent Rosson was honored as an AY Man of Distinction. He is an invaluable asset to our team and the community."
"We also had the privilege of celebrating Jerry Jones, a member of our Auxiliary, who was presented with the John Paul Hammerschmidt Man of Distinction Award earlier this month," Cribbs continued. "We were truly honored to be part of the celebration."
Following Cribbs' report, Chairman of the Board, Dan Bowers, added, "I would also like to mention that our CEO, Sammie, was recognized locally as a Woman of Distinction and on a state level as one of the 100 Women of Influence. Congratulations, Sammie. This recognition is well-deserved."
