Area Schools Tour the Mega Brain

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) staff and members of the AR SAVES team offered tours of the Mega Brain in Deer and Mt. Judea recently. About 250 Deer students and 190 from Mt. Judea toured the brain.

The Mega Brain is a tool offered by the AR SAVES program and teaches the public about the signs and symptoms of a stroke along with insight into other brain conditions and diseases.

The NARMC team also had the opportunity to visit with Tina James, LPN, with the Jasper school district and with staff members of the Boston Mountain Clinic in Deer regarding the AR SAVES program.

AR SAVES is a program that offers 24/7 access to a neurologist in order to diagnose a stroke. Hospitals across the state have partnered with the program. Each partner is equipped with telemedicine technology, training for personnel, support for dedicated tele-stroke coordinator and ongoing continuing education.

NARMC has been selected as an AR SAVES site of excellence several years in a row. NARMC is proud to be a part of the AR SAVES program and to be able to offer this program to the community.
