NARMC Pharmacy Technicians Earn National Certification

March 12, 2019

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that all internal pharmacy technicians have passed the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). This certification is in addition to their state licenses and exemplifies their commitment to quality and professionalism.

“The PTCB certification is the most recognized national standard for pharmacy technicians. This credential further assures our patients of we already knew- that NARMC has the most competent and capable staff caring for our community who are dedicated to lifelong learning,” NARMC Director of Pharmacy Joshua Bright, PharmD, said.

The PTCB’s goal is to advocate for one national standard for pharmacy technician certification that is recognized and supported by the pharmacy profession. NARMC is one of only a handful of pharmacies in the state in which 100 percent of the technicians have earned their national certification.

To earn this certification, the technicians passed a rigorous exam that assessed knowledge critical to pharmacy technician practice. The exam is challenging with the PTCB board reporting that the pass rate for exams administered in 2017 was only 58 percent. Continuing education is required to maintain the certification.

NARMC Pharmacy technicians include Charles Mears, Jasi Dezort, Cindy Patrick, Pam Kindall, Brian Leonard, Crystal Mincks, front left Scott Reid, Amy Olson, Treasha Bailey, Lynn Downing, Kim Wyatt and Dawn Wagner.
