Two Registered nurses recently completed the classroom portion of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center’s (NARMC) Nurse Residency Program.
The program provides nurses continued education and development of clinical nursing skills and a strong foundation in NARMC policies and procedures. The program is two- years-long, including eight weeks of classroom and laboratory instruction. During the rest of the residency, nurses are mentored by nursing managers. Currently, 37 graduates of the residency are employed by NARMC.
The class started in January with two weeks of shadowing various departments in the hospital followed by an eight-week classroom course. The course includes hands-on training, lectures and guest speakers, and it is completed during orientation in their respective areas. Both nurses will continue their residency for the next two years.
Graduates include the following:
Summer Rains, RN, currently working in the Critical Care/Pediatric Department
Brittnie Hearitige, RN, currently working in the Medical Surgical Department
