Five registered nurses recently completed the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) Nurse Residency Program. Since its creation in 2012, 90 nurses have graduated from the program.
The program provides nurses continued education and development of clinical nursing skills and a strong foundation in NARMC policies and procedures. The program is two- years-long, including eight weeks of classroom and laboratory instruction. During the rest of the residency, nurses are mentored by nursing managers. Currently, 37 graduates of the residency are employed by NARMC.
On January 26, 2018, the newest graduates from the Nurse Residency Program were presented certificates by VP and Chief Nursing Officer Sammie Cribbs. Graduates include the following:

Megan Blevins, LPN, completed her nursing education at North Arkansas College in 2015. She began working for NARMC in the Wound Care department in December 2015. She is planning to pursue her RN and wound care certification soon.
Tabitha Brown, RN, completed her nursing education at North Arkansas College in 2015. She began working for NARMC in the OB department in December 2015. Tabitha was promoted to Charge Nurse in the OB department in August 2017. She is planning to pursue her BSN soon.
Kyla (Krissy) Grant, BSN, RN, completed her nursing education at North Arkansas College in 2015, and this past summer completed her BSN at the University of Arkansas in 2017. She started in the Medical Surgical department before transferring to Quality Services in April 2017. Krissy is currently pursuing her Master’s degree.
Michael Nelson, RN, completed his nursing education at North Arkansas College in 2015. He began working for NARMC in the Surgery department in January 2016. He is currently pursuing his BSN.
John (Tanner) Smith, RN, completed his LPN nursing education at North Arkansas College in 2013, followed by his RN nursing education at North Arkansas College in 2015. He began working for NARMC in the Medical Surgical department in January 2014.
