Austin Elder was an avid outdoor enthusiast. While camping during December 2012, he fell 100 feet from a bluff. After being rescued, he was brought to NARMC. He was then sent to other healthcare facilities. He survived the fall, but five days later suffered from two massive strokes.
Austin was an organ donor and was able to donate the gift of his eyes and tissue to those in need.
His gift is being honored at this year's Tournament of Roses Parade.
Trenton's Legacy, a nonprofit organization, is sponsoring Austin's family so that they can participate in the float. The Trenton’s Legacy program, AURORA, and Austin Elder’s family visited NARMC on Tuesday, November 14.
