Steve Richards named Arkansas Staff Pharmacist of the Year

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) is proud to announce that Pharmacist Steve Richards has been named Arkansas Association of Health-System Pharmacist’s Staff Pharmacist of the Year.

The staff pharmacist of the year award recognizes the accomplishments of a staff pharmacist who goes above and beyond the requirements of their position.

Richards was nominated by his coworkers at NARMC for his outstanding leadership and positive attitude. He received his award at the 51st Annual Fall Seminar held in Little Rock on October 6.

Richards has been with NARMC since 1982. During his time with NARMC, Richards has recruited and trained new pharmacists, worked with pharmacy students, assisted in modernizing the hospital’s IV admixture program and served on the Radiation Therapy Board.

Richards’ upbeat attitude is contagious. “Steve loves his job and always comes to work with a smile on his face and a constantly infectious joyfulness,” Josh Bright, Pharmacy Director, said.

“This award is one of the highlights of my pharmacy career. My job is made so much easier because of my awesome coworkers,” Richards added. “I could be just a little biased, but I personally think we have the best pharmacy staff anywhere.”

Located in Harrison, Arkansas, NARMC is a 176-bed hospital and medical system with a team of 800 dedicated healthcare professionals. The medical center is committed to providing the best in care, close to home for residents of Boone, Marion, Newton, Searcy and Carroll counties. One of the Top 100 rural hospitals according to The Rural Health Policy Institute, NARMC has numerous 5-star ratings from Healthgrade and scores in the 98th percentile for patient satisfaction in the Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Ratings.
