HOW CAN I HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

North Arkansas Medical Foundation formed as a nonprofit organization in 1996 with a mission of raising money to support North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) in keeping our community healthy. The Foundation is committed to providing financial support to NARMC so that we may continue to provide the best healthcare, facilities, programs and personnel for our community and the surrounding areas.

Regardless of ability to pay, NARMC turns no one away. This leaves the hospital to absorb millions of dollars in unpaid medical bills each year. The need for support from donors is more important than ever. Private contributions provide additional services, programs and equipment that the medical center would not be able to have otherwise.

HOW CAN I HELP?

MEMORIAL GIFTS AND HONORARY GIFTS

Many people choose to make a gift to the Foundation rather than send flowers following the loss of a friend or loved one. The Foundation acknowledges each gift with a letter to the family and a letter of thanks to the donor. Memorial gifts are a very special way to make a lasting impression on families who have lost a friend or loved one, while making a difference to the medical center at the same time.

ANNUAL GIVING

For those who prefer to donate on a yearly basis, the Foundation’s “Giving For Life” fund drive is conducted annually in May and raises money for patient care equipment and enhanced facilities.  The fund drive begins in May, but its efforts are continued throughout the remainder of the year.

While the areas or equipment of greatest need are the focus of the fund drive, donations are accepted for any department within the hospital anytime.  If there is a specific department or service at NARMC that is special to an individual, they absolutely have the option of designating their gift for use in that area specifically.

LONG TERM FUNDING

The Foundation accepts contributions from individuals to help provide long-term funding for the medical center, as well as funds for annual needs. To prepare for such future needs, the hospital has an endowment fund to which gifts can be made in several forms, including immediate donations of cash, securities, real estate, life insurance and tangible personal property, as well as planned gifts such as trusts and bequests by will.

Please contact the Foundation at (870) 414-4549 with any questions or to discuss options/arrangements.

SPECIAL EVENTS

As a way for the community to support their hospital and to meet/network with other peers, professionals and friends, the Foundation has created three unique special events including the “Giving For Life” Annual Fund Drive Launch Party, the NARMC Golf Classic and our holiday fundraising gala, The Crystal Ball.

HOW WILL MY GIFT BE USED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Your gift can make a difference in any capacity you choose by designating it to a specific area or department within NARMC.  If you choose not to designate your gift, we will use it for the area of greatest need, which will include the purchase of equipment and other patient care needs that allow NARMC to provide the best medical care, treatment, facilities and services possible.

Each year the Foundation works with NARMC Administration and staff to develop a list of these needs, which we will work to raise money for throughout the year.  A short list detailing some of the medical center’s needs in 2010 is below.

While this list illustrates the current greatest needs of NARMC, we also accept donations for every other department within the hospital. If there is a specific department or service at NARMC that is special to you or your family,  you have the option of  designating  your gift to that area —  Emergency Medical Services, Claude Parrish RTI, Patient Tower General Fund,  Jo Ann Garrison Women’s Center, FedEx Freight Rehabilitation & PT Center, the Gene Durand Cardiac Rehabilitation Center., NARMC Auxiliary ICU, etc. We also have an Employee Crisis Fund that allows NARMC to provide financial assistance to employees who have experienced a tragic situation at home.
