Receiving his Bachelor of Science as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Louis University in 1980, Dr. Padilla obtained his medical degree in 1984 from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.  He completed his General Surgery Residency in 1989 at Mayaguez Medical Center.  He became board certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1994 and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1995.  He was a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army Reserves from 1988 to 1991 and served in Desert Storm.  He began his private practice in Harrison in 1991.  In additon to general surgery, Dr. Padilla is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon performing the first of many laparoscopic procedures at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.  In 2009 he became the first surgeon in Arkansas to perform Single Incision Laparoscopic hernia repairs,appendectomy,hysterectomy as well as other abdominal surgeries.  He is the only surgeon in the state of Arkansas approved to perform Enterra Therapy.
